I had the privilege of spending July 15-16 at the annual Native American Grant School Association Summer Conference. I was extremely impressed by all the Native educators and board members who dedicate their lives to our students. Participants were inspired by keynote sessions while getting hands-on experience in our workshops. I had loads of fun with the people who attended my Digital Storytelling workshop. The conference theme was “Inspiring the Whole Child.” I was reminded how important social/emotional education is for our students. I shared some information about Monster Slayers because I’d love to get that program into our Native schools. I was inspired by the high-quality educators who rarely receive recognition for passing on their wisdom and knowledge to the next generation. Thankfully, I had my camera at the conference and I was able to highlight a few of these exceptional educators. Enjoy the video below!
